I am trying to find the birth information of my 3rd great grandfather Christian Tobias Frik (1801-1899). His death record records his birth as May 1801 in Copenhagen. I have research and found a number of records that did not match his history. He married Anna Maria Nielsen on the 7th April 1838 in Rise, Abenra. I have been unable to find any information to highlight when he relocated from Copenhagen to Abenra to see if there was any clues to narrow down the Copenhagen connection.

Thanks Henry for taking the time to answer my question. I was hopeful when I saw that the mothers name was the same as Christian Tobias Frik daughter. I then looked through the census records and found two entries for a Tobias Frick for the same birth year along with his occupation as a blacksmith, day laborer.  1850 census:   https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid7678177  and  1860 census: https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid8622845

With the different spelling across the census records I was now not as confident and started looking through the  København / Smørum / Smørum parish / Kirkebog 1863 - 1886 records found a entry for a Tobias Frick for March 1868 and can just make out the word Valby: https://www.danishfamilysearch.com/ao/opslag20886347.
